BIO / THEO DORSEY

Theo Dorsey is an award-winning sports journalist with over 10 years of broadcast experience. The Missouri City, Texas native, now leads his own live radio show, Theoretically Speaking on ESPN West Palm 106.3FM.

Born and raised in Missouri City, Texas, Theo discovered his love for sports early, spending high school days debating topics with friends and admiring anchors like Stuart Scott. His passion led him to pursue sports journalism seriously. He attended Hampton University (class of 2015), majoring in broadcast journalism with a minor in leadership studies. While there, he reported for the student newspaper, anchored the campus news show, emceed basketball games, hosted a radio show, and interned with ESPN Radio, NBC Universal, and Washington Times.

After graduation, Theo began his professional career at WALB in Albany, Georgia, where he made history as the station’s first Black sports director. In 2018, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters honored him as Best Sports Anchor in the State, citing his high school sports, Masters, and SEC football coverage. He then moved to WGHP in Greensboro, North Carolina, initially as a news reporter and fill‑in sports anchor, before embracing a career pivot.

Since April 9, 2024, he’s hosted Theoretically Speaking on ESPN West Palm 106.3 FM with Christian Katt and Tina Contanza airing weekday afternoons (2–4 p.m.). With over 300 episodes to date and 60,000+ unique YouTube views in a single month, the show features special guests from around the country like Eli Manning, NFL Network’s Cam Wolfe, Evan Cohen from UnsportsmanLike and ESPN’s Jonathan Zaslow.

Outside of radio and television, he also loves to connect back to the comunity through hosting and emceeing events around south Florida. He has been tapped to emcee major events such as the Lou Groza Award (for top college kicker) and the Capital One Orange Bowl FanFest alongside Peyton Manning and Champ Bailey.

Theo has quickly become the face of ESPN West Palm connections and relationships throughout the community and he looks forward to whatever comes his way next.
